Winter Apple Salad with Pan-Seared Halloumi

A warm, protein-rich version of a classic apple salad. The seared halloumi adds a satisfying savory element that pairs perfectly with the sweet apples and crunchy nuts.

  • 225 g Halloumi cheese (sliced)
  • 1 pc Large Apple (e.g., Honeycrisp) (sliced thin)
  • 100 g Mixed Greens or Spinach
  • 30 g Pecans or Walnuts
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Maple syrup
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat (no oil needed usually). Fry Halloumi slices for 2-3 mins per side until golden brown. Remove.

  2. Throw the apple slices in the warm pan for just 1 minute to take the chill off.

  3. Toss greens with dressing. Top with warm cheese, apples, and nuts.
